The Playmill Theatre: Marketing & PR Director (2016 - Present)
The Playmill Theatre is the oldest Broadway-style summer stock theatre in the Rocky Mountain region. I’ve overseen their marketing and PR strategy for 6+ years, leading to record-high sales and increasing social media followers by 170%. I also assist with live and virtual event planning and annual marketing art direction, and I manage freelancers and all third-party relationships with the press, influencers, etc.
Social media
When I began working with The Playmill, they had no formal social media strategy or team. Under my management, we have tripled our followers, developed a regular cadence and brand voice, and reached a new generation of patrons with unprecedented buying potential.
Newsletter campaign
I oversee the strategy and copywriting of The Playmill’s successful newsletter campaign, which reaches 18K+ patrons and has increased ticket sales by thousands monthly. We maintain an open rate of 36.7% and a click rate of 6.3%
Art direction
I provide art direction for all seasonal deliverables that The Playmill produces. This includes photoshoots, programs, printed promotional materials, and more. I enjoy the challenge of making each season distinctive, yet cohesive with The Playmill’s overall brand.
Company rebrand
Over the past few years, The Playmill has outgrown their turn-of-the-century space. The company is currently in the process of building a new venue. I am providing creative direction for and overseeing all logistics of a complete rebrand of the theatre’s branding assets, including its website, entity logos, etc.
Radio ads
The Playmill regularly utilizes local radio stations to drive sales, particularly around the holidays and early summer. I write all the copy for each radio ad, select the music, and liaise between the two companies to ensure the final product is driving brand strategy.
